If the fan does not start you have a wiring issue circuit breaker trips or motor problem circuit breaker does not trip.
Trane furnace blower motor wont turn on.
It could be a bad run capacitor or it could have a worn motor bearing that won t let it start.
Check your blower motor if your furnace still won t turn on you don t need to know what a blower motor is to check that it is working properly.
Your furnace blower fan not starting can have a few causes as you see here.
If the bearing is bad the fan will still spin freely with power off usually.
If your furnace won t turn on it is usually either a problem with the circuit breaker or with the thermostat.
If you can make the blower run then we know the problem is not with the blower motor or drive belt or assembly and we d go to step two.

Check that the circuit breaker to your furnace is not off but also understand that it is not uncommon for your blower motor the fan to have a separate circuit breaker so check this as well.
The primary trane furnace problem that homeowners run into is having their furnace fail to turn on when they adjust the temperature.
If the furnace starts the problem is either with the thermostat wire or thermostat.
Fortunately this is a fairly easy problem to detect.
If you see or hear the fan turn on your blower motor is not the culprit.
When i turn on the heat the house blower and draft blower come on but after about 30 seconds or so the draft motor goes off and the furnace never lights.
Next go to your furnace and check on the furnace itself and surrounding walls for another on off switch or circuit breaker and ensure that it is on as well.
Your system probably has a manual fan on switch on the thermostat or if not there may be a fan on push pull switch right on the fan limit switch in the air handler.
But when power is applied it will lock up and hum.
